This 10-hour day tour is a must for coffee lovers interested in tasting some of the famous Luwak coffee. On this tour we will learn about and taste this local delicious coffee production. You will also do some sightseeing of the beautiful rice terrace in Tegallalang, enjoy Kintamani for lunch overlooking the volcano and lake Batur, do some short trekking through volcanic rock and bamboo forests, and end the day by visiting a very unique Balinese traditional village.

First stop of the journey will be visiting a beautiful rice terrace in Tegallalang. The emerald-green rice terraces in the river gorge north of Tegallalang village in central Bali are generally considered to offer travelers the best photo opportunity.

Then head north and arrive at the coffee plantation where you will be able to sample local blends. These included the prized Kopi Luwak, or beans that have been eaten by the civet cat, passed, collected, cleaned, roasted and ground for our drinking pleasure.

After the coffee plantation, you will be driven up to Kintamani for lunch where you will enjoy a spectacular view of lake Batur, and of the active volcano of Mt. Batur. Optional short trekking through volcanic rock of Mount Batur is available if you want a bit of exercise. From there you will get a closer look at Mt. Batur on your north side and Mt. Abang on the opposite side. Your guide will tell you the history of Mt. Batur and its eruption.

If you prefer to do a trekking under the shade of tree, you can also take you for a walk through the bamboo forest. This forest is the largest bamboo forest in the island where you can see different types of bamboo growing in their natural habitat. Please don't forget to bring mosquito spray as sometimes you will probably find some of them flying around inside the forest.

Final stop of this trip is visiting a unique and outstandingly beautiful traditional village called Penglipuran. Here you are welcomed and can go in and visit their traditional house compounds. This village has its own unique culture and way of life. After your village visit, you will receive a ride back to your hotel.

Your trip continues to Sukawati Market, the most popular souvenir market on the island. It is common to ask for discounts when you buy souvenirs from the local traditional markets. They have no fixed price on the items they sell.

In the evening, you will be driven to the Gianyar night market to taste some local Balinese food. Various Balinese food can be found here for example: babi guling, ayam Betutu as well as all kinds of Balinese cakes, fruits and juices. You will have dinner at the Gianyar Night Market before being taken back to your accommodation.

We learn about Balinese tastes and customs, local meat, fish, and other product, finding ingredients and unique way of bargaining in Balinese style. Touring a traditional out door market provides experiences how Balinese people spend their time before cooking. arrived at the compound house introducing some well grown herbs and spices in our extensive gardens. Students are thought to process the food with traditional utensils and techniques. Paste and sauce preparation is one of the most interesting and important aspects of Balinese cooking, with two types of way Balinese spice preparations, chopped on wooden chopping block and ground in a stone mortar before being cooked in a variety of ways of Balinese dish. All prep work and cooking are hands-on experiences, performed by our students.

Traditional Coffee Process

The coffee-making process is still natural. the process of drying the  coffee beans are still using sunlight. roasting coffee beans are still using natural tools such as pan made of clay and the roasting process uses heat from firewood. The resulting coffee has a  distinctive scent,because it is processed in a natural way
